I was a student of yours back in, gosh, 2000 or 2001; I only went to White Station for a couple of years, but you pretty much started me on this long, twisting, road of drawing. Now I'm a full-time freelance illustrator and trying to get more into comics as well. You can check me out at www.mervsplace.com.
Anyway, it's cool to see what you've been up to. Back then I don't think anyone thought to look you up on the net, but we had heard of the infamous Dr. Wexler. The linework and watercolor remind me a lot of early Bill Watterson (a personal hero of mine) with a dash of Frank Miller. Not a bad duo to conjure up!
Hi John, I remember you---excellent rendering skills in high school--ended up going to Cordova? Anyway, thank you for the generous comments-huge fan also of the legendary Watterson. Am going to your website to see where those great drawing skills have taken you.Best Wishes, Berlin
